The Flip does record really good HD video, but you need to ensure a few things: hold it steady and make sure you have plenty of light. If your hands aren't steady, it will be really obvious when you watch your video on the computer. If the light is low, then your video will be extremely noisy. Mount it on a tripod in a bright environment and you will be pleasantly surprised by the results.
Transferring data to the Mac is simple and quick. The copy speed is pretty reasonable for flash media, and it shows up just like a USB hard drive (no need to install the software).

I like this product, very easy to use. Video quality is excellent. Not so good in low light conditions. I'm going to investigate a secondary light source. Keeping it steady because it's light is a challenge, but outdoors, this camera is phenomenal. Big plus is it's super easy to download onto your computer and it uploads to Facebook instantly.

You already know what it is and what it does. Mine died after less than two hours use and to their credit, it was easy to get a return authorization and it was promptly replaced. But the replacement unit was obviously used and the case was seriously scratched and had a big fingerprint on the lense.

I received it as a gift. Never got it to work since its battery would not hold more than a four second charge.
To add insult to injury, the newest, 4.5 version of the software for Macintosh upon installation puts in a CODEC in a non-standard way that crashes iTunes on Mac OSX 10.5.8. The software is so bad that when you take it out it leaves the CODEC that crashes iTunes and you're left figuring it out. Truly not worth the hassle.
Great idea, poor execution.
