This little digital camcorder is just plain slick...!
It doesn't have a couple things my old camcorder has,
but my old camcorder doesn't fit in my pants pocket.
It takes very good videos, the software is simple, and
installs upon first connection to your PC.
That is nice, no humping around a CD for install when I go to the kids house.
Videos look good on my 50" big screen so I can walk around at gatherings and then show all what I recorded before the party breaks up.
Mine is one of the older 30 minute units.
It would be nice to have a unit that runs longer, but I have yet to fill it up (30 minutes is a long time in video) and I have used only one set of AA batteries in over a month and use it every other day for business also.
I record some repair jobs I do to show other employees how certain things are done...
It would be nice to pick a resolution, to drop it lower.
Takes good pictures inside with low light also.
For an inexpensive device it is great...!

I love my little camera I can take it everywhere without having to lug a big camcorder with me. It fits in my pocket and my husband can enjoy all the little moments he misses while at work and it takes no extra work on my part. Only con is I wish the sound was a little louder you have to be close to get my children's voice.

I purchased this flip video and it worked fine for about 3 weeks. The USB plug came off while downloading videos. Pure Digital Technologies refused to replace the camera (out of warranty) WOW only a 1 month warranty? Bought a Insignia camera works great.

I purchase the Flip Ultra Series Camcorder for a vacation that I was planning. Delivery was quick. I tested the camcorder to make sure that it worked. A month later while on vacation, the first time a tried to use it, it froze. I could not even turn it off. I had to remove the batteries but it was still frozen when I replaced the batteries. I checked the web for solutions to my probem. It seems that freezing/seizing up is a common, recurring problem. I didn't find a solution. I did not get even one video! It was a complete waste of money.

I got my Flip in June of 2008. The Flip is a horrible implementation of a good idea. The camera comes with free software to download video form the camera to the PC. Don't expect their software to do anything else. It never could upload to YouTube, a simple video function. They made it worse by "upgrading" the software to give a nag screen to buy a faster upgrade. I would not buy anything from these idiots again. Now it takes about 3 minutes for Windows to recognize the camera and start the free software. Is this supposed to be more incentive to buy the upgrade? OK, you make really bad software that cannot do what it is supposed to do. You make it worse. And you think that will get me to buy your "faster" software. No! It will make me buy the Sony Webbie HD camera and take a video of me smashing the Flip to pieces using the Sony Webbie HD camera. When I get my Webbie I will do a video review with a much better product. Flip Off the Flip. Garbage!
I began the upload process to send a video to YouTube from the Flip software. 45 minutes later it is 20% done converting the video before it even begins the upload. Not that I even think it will successfully upload the video. The YouTube online upload is faster and works.
